Horlicks choco chips cookies are tasty and healthy treat for your super active kids which has the goodness of oats, wholemeal flour, almonds and horlicks. Nothing processed here, all hearty and healthy!

How to make Horlicks choco chips cookies

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 15-20 minutes
Baking equipment used: Two baking trays
Makes 30-36 cookies depending on the size

Ingredients :

2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Horlicks
1-2 tablespoon milk powder
1-2 tablespoon brown sugar (or as per taste)
1 teaspoon baking powder
20-25 almonds 
80-90 grams butter
2 tablespoon choco chips
2-3 tablespoon milk 

Method : 
  • Put oats, flour, almonds, sugar, baking powder, horlicks and butter in a mixer grinder jar.
  • Give them few rounds of churn. Take out the mixture in a big mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle choco chips. Add milk to make a dough.
  • Wrap it with cling film. Keep it in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 C/fan 160 C/350 F/gas mark 4.
  • Take the dough out of the fridge. Roll it thin but not too thin. Cut it with any choice of shape with cookie cutter.
  • Place them on a lined baking tray.
  • Bake them for 15-20 minutes or until done. The time may vary according to the oven and the thickness of the cookies.
  • Take them out of the oven and leave on baking tray for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to wire rack to cool down completely.
  • Once cooled store them in an airtight container.
